Benzie County VINE Arrest Check
Michigan's MI-VINE page lays out the basics: free, confidential, and open around the clock. Search anonymously through VINELink. Prefer a phone? Call 1-800-770-7657. TTY users can dial 1-866-847-1298. Benzie County's own site promises neither a live VINE feed nor complete booking coverage, so run the state search for the exact person first. If nothing comes back, or the status conflicts with what the jail says, call the Sheriff or Corrections office. The county posts no web roster of its own. That makes the two-source check worth the minutes. The official MI-VINE information carries the current registration steps.
A state page is not a Benzie custody answer.
Search Benzie Custody on VINELink
Enter a full name plus age or birth date so a Benzie arrest search does not pull the wrong match.
- Open VINELink and choose Michigan.
- Select the available custody search and enter the person’s legal name. Add other identifiers the interface offers.
- Review all matches. Compare spelling, age or birth information, facility, custody status, and record identifiers where displayed.
- Open the matching record and note the status, facility, event date, and time checked.
- If no Benzie result appears, contact the Sheriff at 231-882-4484 and ask about current custody.
The VINELink search interface is shown in this capture from the official search route.
VINELink updates its Benzie screens often, so confirm the state shown and check each matched person before trusting a result.
Benzie VINE Result Fields
Details vary by agency, event, and record. Treat MI-VINE as a status and notification channel rather than a complete booking sheet.
| Result detail | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Name and identifier | Compare all identifiers before accepting a match |
| Custody status | Note the date checked; status can change |
| Facility or agency | Contact that office for direct confirmation |
| Release or transfer event | Use as an alert, then verify when action depends on it |
| Escape event | Follow official safety directions; use 911 for immediate danger |
| Court event | Confirm hearing and case details with the court |
| Booking photo | No MI-VINE photo promise; request county photo separately |
VINE status is not a court disposition. "Released" only means recorded custody ended or changed. A transfer means another facility now holds the person.
- Custody
- Physical detention by a jail, prison, or other authority.
- Transfer
- Movement from one holding agency or facility to another.
- Notification
- An automated message about an available event, not a court finding.
- Disposition
- The court’s outcome in the case.
Register Benzie VINE Alerts
Once the right record is on screen, pick the notification option that fits. Michigan materials describe registration by phone, email, or text. Phone signup uses a four-digit PIN. Pick one you can recall but others can't guess.
- Confirm the matched person and custody record before choosing alerts.
- Select the offered event types, such as release, transfer, escape, or supported court changes.
- Enter a reachable phone number, email address, or mobile number for text.
- Create and retain the four-digit PIN when registering by phone.
- Follow the confirmation prompts and keep the registration details in a secure place.
Registration controls appear in the capture from the official VINELink registration route.
Alert options depend on the participating agency and event. Registration does not guarantee every change arrives without delay.
Maintain Benzie VINE Notifications
A registration only works while its contact path works. Keep the phone number, email, or text destination current, and hold onto the four-digit PIN. If a call lands on voicemail or someone else answers, what you hear may depend on the service's delivery behavior. Follow the state's current prompts to change a registration instead of stacking several uncertain alerts on one record.
Write down the matched name, identifier, facility, event types, and registration date. That note helps you tell a failed delivery from an event the agency never sent. It also guards against same-name confusion. If VINELink later shows a different facility, confirm whether it reflects a transfer, a release, or a corrected entry before acting.
Court notices and custody notices answer different questions. A hearing can change while custody stays the same. Release can happen while charges stay pending. An escape notice is a safety event. For immediate danger, call 911. For hearing details, call the court. When an alert conflicts with jail status, contact Benzie County Sheriff or Corrections and note the time of both.
Limits of Benzie VINE Alerts
VINE can lag a fresh booking. A record may also fail to appear because of spelling, incomplete identifiers, release, transfer, or agency participation. Benzie's county site publishes no participation matrix. Test the state search, then check any no-result case directly with the jail.
VINELink is not the federal Bureau of Prisons locator. BOP covers federal prisoners. It also doesn't replace ICE's detainee search. ICE ODLS covers current immigration custody, while DHS-VINE adds a separate immigration notification context. MDOC OTIS covers Michigan prisoners, parolees, and probationers within its stated scope, not county-jail detainees or people sentenced only to jail. For a booking that may have just happened, the Arrested Today workflow starts with direct Benzie County confirmation. Waiting for the system to catch up costs time.
Benzie Arrest Records Beyond VINE
An alert is only a signal. Save it with its timestamp. VINE reports one event, while the court docket tracks the legal case itself, so neither replaces the other. Call the facility about custody. Ask the county clerk about proceedings, and date every confirmation you keep.
Transfers complicate a Benzie County search. A person can move from county custody into MDOC, federal, or immigration systems, and each one updates on its own schedule. Automated notice often arrives first. Even so, the agency holding the person stays the real authority on location and next steps.
A VINE record stays narrow. It carries no full booking sheet, booking photo, incident narrative, or court result. Contact Benzie County Sheriff or Corrections for current custody. A focused FOIA request can retrieve a historical booking sheet or photograph. MiCOURT and the appropriate county court handle filed charges and outcomes.
The jail sits at 505 S Michigan Avenue in Beulah. The Sheriff business line is 231-882-4484, staffed weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. except holidays. Emergencies go to 911. In a FOIA request, list the full name, approximate date, agency, booking number, photo, and any release or transfer field sought. Spelling that out speeds the reply.
The Benzie County recent arrests hub covers every angle. Court, MDOC, federal, and public-record sources sit alongside VINE there.
